A bit of Echo Park Little Boy for a very special little boy!
My bff's son is turning 1 next week, which is crazy because that means there are only 4 months left until my baby turns 2!! Anyway, I wanted to make him something extra special and I know my friend has been wanting his name in wood letters for his room. Since I have a girl, I had never done anything "boy" before, but I knew exactly which papers I wanted to use. I ordered the Little Boy collection from CropChocolate.com and it arrived just in time. A little spray adhesive, a little mod podge, some cutting with my trusty exacto knife, some sanding, a little inking, and so on... and voila!
I had SO much fun making this ~ it really didn't take that long. I love how it turned out and I'm so excited to give it to her!! I hope she loves it :)
I also made some birthday cards to match:

I just can't resist this cute little man, so here is a picture of the birthday boy :)
Happy Mother's Day! (Yes, a little late!)
I meant to post this sooner, but forgot of course! I couldn't post it before Mother's Day just in case :)
This is the card I made for my mom using Prima's Petal Poetry kit that I got recently from ScrapbookSteals.com. The green pom-pom ribbon is American Crafts. The card was somewhat inspired by one I saw on a blog somewhere, but for the life of me can't remember where! I was going from memory, so it's not exact, just inspired!

I made an extra special gift for my mom this year also. I took a wood picture frame and altered it using Bo Bunny's Gabrielle collection, which I love! I'm big into butterflies lately. I also used some Recollections bling & flowers from Michaels, and a Tim Holtz word key & tag. I'm so happy how this turned out, and my mom LOVED it! She actually didn't even realize that I made it :)

It's time to give away my Thickers!
I'm so glad everyone had fun guessing the number of flowers for my giveaway! Are you ready to find out if you won?? Well I won't keep you in suspense any longer. The correct number of flowers in the jar is 139! That means the winner of 3 packages of Thickers is... Shana!! Congrats girl! The 2nd winner who will receive 1 package of my Thickers is comment #1, Brett! Brett ironically was the 2nd closest guesser for the flower game!!
Congrats girls! I'll be in touch with you to get your details. Thanks everyone for playing along and stay tuned for another contest next month :)

ScrapFest Goodies!
I meant to post this last weekend but completely forgot! Last Saturday my amazing hubby drove me out to Kitchener/Waterloo to attend Scrapfest. It's about an hour drive, so not terrible, but I didn't want to go alone. It was my first time attending and I didn't know what to expect. It's basically a little expo with stores from all over Southern Ontario. Which was great for me because there aren't many stores left in Toronto! The best part was seeing all the products in person that I had only ever seen online. I wandered around for a while and didn't buy anything because everything was so expensive, and let's face it, I've been spoiled by all the great deals I find online in the US! Then I found this little booth called Scrappin' Buddies... it was like scrapbook heaven! Their prices were less then any other store there, and they had some amazing stuff on clearance. For example, I had seen Glimmer Mist at previous booths for $8.99-$10.99, and Scrappin' Buddies had them for $6.99! That's about the same (or better) as buying them online, without the shipping fees. Among my purchases were Pink Paislee's Daily Junque, Webster's Pages Trendsetter, Basic Grey Nook & Pantry and Hello Luscious, LYB Freshprint Clothesline (clearance priced!), some Glimmer Mists (duh!), MME Bella Bella, and a bunch of other little items. I had so much fun and met so many nice people! I will definitely be going to the next one!
Here is a photo of my goodies!

Anyone for a Giveaway?!?
I decided something the other day. I decided I have WAY too many Thickers! I know I know, it sounds crazy to me too, but I mean really, do I need over 100 of these things?? Well yes, I do, but the good thing is that over time I've ended up with duplicates and in some cases, triplicates. When I say this is good, I mean this is good for you because I'm giving some away! I'm going to make this just a bit of a challenge for you girls :) Below is a picture of my crystal flower embellishments. The person who can guess the number or gets closest to the number of flowers will win 3 packs of Thickers! {See picture below the flowers}.
I will also use random.org to pick a random winner that will receive 1 package of Thickers! Keep in mind the flowers range from tiny to large! Okay, so to win, follow my blog if you don't already and leave one comment here on this blog post with your guess. For a second entry, post this on your blog and link it back here to this blog post ~ please leave the link to your blog post in the comment! The winners will be announced on Tuesday evening ~ April 19th. Thanks ladies, and good luck!!

Scrapbooksteals MWM # 34
Time to back track a bit to catch up on my missed mojos! Another fabulous sketch by the super talented Kristy Lee:
And my LO:
I had so much fun with this LO! This was my first time spraying the base with Mist ~ well Smooch Spritz in this case. I used a little black and a little pink. I also adore the DCWV Street Lace collection! It's pretty and edgy at the same time and I thought it worked perfectly with this photo (which I doctored a little). I had a hard time coming up with a title for some reason, that seems to be my biggest issue lately. Titles. And I don't know why! So I did what I normally would do in this situation... I called my mom and she helped me out :)
I'm really loving this LO ~ probably among my favorites of mine to date.
Scrapbooksteals MWM # 35
So my mojo had been missing for quite some time, then I saw Kristy's sketch and all of a sudden felt inspired! I loved all the details! So many ideas popped into my head and off I went to work. Here is the sketch:
And here is my take on it:
I'm really happy with how this one turned out! And I really love working with Echo Park Little Girl :)
Now that my mojo has returned I need to catch up on the last 3 or 4 MWM's that I missed!
